Felicia "Fe" Montes is a Xicana Indigena artist, activist, academic, community & event organizer, and poet & performer. She is the cofounder and coordinating member of two groundbreaking creative wombyn collectives, Mujeres de Maiz and In Lak Ech and as a mujer en ceremonia, connects & crosses borders representing this generation's Xicanistas.
She is on the front lines of activism and organizing on a daily basis, not only writing and singing about the struggle but organizing it and making change in her community and the world for over 12 years. Graduating from UCLA with a B.A in World Arts & Cultures, and Chican@ Studies... she has put her knowledge & skills to work for the community having organized hundreds of cultural events, marches, protests; from the streets to campuses, ranchos, and both concrete & real jungles for many artists and social justice causes.
